I went in expecting cool exhibits. I came out questioning everything I thought I knew in the best possible way.
“I was never the kid who loved science class. Joy of Science changed that and I’m a whole adult.”
Okay, confession time. Science and I were never best friends. I was the kid in class who understood just enough to get by but never truly felt that spark that moment where something clicks and suddenly the world looks different. I assumed that ship had sailed. I was wrong. Because I walked into Joy of Science at Fortress Stadium in Lahore and somehow, between one interactive exhibit and the next, I became a complete science convert.
This place is something special. Not in a museum-that-smells-like-old-textbooks kind of way. Not in a look-but-don’t-touch, read-the-plaque, move-along kind of way. Joy of Science is hands-on, mind-bending, genuinely thrilling and I need you to understand that before we go any further. Because if you’re picturing a quiet exhibition hall, you need to completely reset that image right now.
This is science but make it exciting.
Fortress Stadium just became a lot more interesting
Let’s talk location for a second. Fortress Stadium is already one of Lahore’s most well-known spots shopping, food, entertainment, it’s all there. But Joy of Science has quietly become one of the most compelling reasons to visit. Hidden in plain sight, it rewards anyone curious enough to step inside. And once you do step inside, you immediately understand why people are talking about it.
The space itself is well-designed and welcoming. It doesn’t feel intimidating or overly academic. It feels inviting like someone specifically wanted to make sure that every single person who walked through that door, regardless of their relationship with science, would leave feeling like they belonged there. That design philosophy shows in every corner of the experience.
“// Joy of Science doesn’t ask you to already love science. It just puts you in the room with it — and lets the magic do the rest.”
The exhibits interactive, surprising, and totally addictive
This is where Joy of Science absolutely earns its name. The exhibits here are not passive displays. They are experiences. You touch things. You press things. You watch reactions happen right in front of you. You hear explanations that actually make sense. And then and this is the part that gets you, you start asking questions you never thought to ask before. That’s the power of this place. It doesn’t just show you science. It makes you want more of it.

The electricity exhibit stopped me completely in my tracks. Watching electricity arc and crackle in a controlled environment, understanding in real time why it behaves the way it does I genuinely felt something shift in my brain. Suddenly concepts I’d half-heard in school had weight and texture and meaning. That’s not something a textbook can give you. That’s something you have to experience.
The live experiments section is another highlight I can’t stop thinking about. Watching chemistry happen right in front of you seeing reactions, colours changing, things fizzing and transforming is a completely different experience from reading about it. There were children around me who were absolutely mesmerized. But honestly? So was I. No shame.

It’s not just for kids, not even close
I want to address this directly because I think it’s the biggest misconception people have about a place like Joy of Science. They hear “science exhibition” and they immediately think okay, this is a school trip destination. Take the kids, let them run around, tick a box. But that’s not what this is at all.
Joy of Science is genuinely engaging for adults. For teenagers. For anyone who has ever wondered how something works and never found a satisfying answer. The exhibits are layered in a way that gives younger visitors the visual thrill and gives adults the depth. You’re not looking at the same thing from the same angle you’re all getting something real and meaningful out of it, just in slightly different ways. That’s incredibly hard to design and they’ve pulled it off brilliantly.
- Every exhibit is hands-on this is not a look-through-the-glass kind of experience.
- The explanations are clear and engaging without ever talking down to you.
- It works brilliantly as a school outing, family day, or a solo visit for the curious.
- Fortress Stadium location means you can combine it with lunch, shopping, and a full day out.
- You leave with actual knowledge — not just photos. That’s rare and valuable.
- Lahore genuinely needed a space like this and Joy of Science fills that gap perfectly.
“// The best thing Joy of Science does is make you feel like curiosity is the whole point — not the answer. And that might be the most important lesson of all.”
Why Lahore needed Joy of Science
Here’s something I kept thinking about during my visit. Lahore has incredible energy. It has culture, food, history, entertainment it has so much. But a space dedicated entirely to curiosity and discovery? That’s been a gap. Joy of Science fills it in a way that feels thoughtful, purposeful, and genuinely exciting for the city.
Kids growing up in Lahore now have a place they can go where science isn’t abstract or intimidating it’s right in front of them, alive and touchable and thrilling. That matters more than I can properly put into words. The generation of curious, questioning, scientific thinkers that could come out of consistent visits to a place like Joy of Science that’s a legacy worth building. And it starts with one visit, one exhibit, one moment where something clicks.
I had that moment. Multiple times. And I’m a grown adult who thought he’d left science behind in school. If it can get me, it can absolutely get you.

Honest verdict: go. Go now.
Joy of Science at Fortress Stadium is one of the most genuinely impressive experiences I’ve had in Lahore in a long time. It’s educational without being boring. Interactive without being chaotic. Welcoming without being basic. It treats every visitor — child or adult — as someone capable of curiosity and worthy of a real answer. Take your kids. Take your siblings. Take yourself. Walk through those exhibits with an open mind and I promise you will come out the other side seeing the world just a little differently. That’s not a small thing. That’s everything.
Your curiosity is waiting for you
Joy of Science — where every question gets a real, hands-on, mind-expanding answer.
